An extract of the report published in Amar Ujjala says that a young man in place of an MBBS doctor giving exam got arrested. Sarita Vihar Police Station has arrested a doctor who returned from abroad with an MBBS degree, who was getting an examination from another young man in his place. MBBS degree, application form and admit card of accused Manohar Singh (35), originally from Pali, Rajasthan, have been confiscated. The accused holds an MBBS degree from Tajik State Medical University, Tajikistan.
According to South East District DCP RP Meena, Dr. Vinayapta reached the accused Dr. Manohar Singh on March 11 with Sarita Vihar police station. Dr. Vinayapta had said in his complaint that the National Board of Examination Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is an autonomous body of India. The National Board conducts the examination of Foreign Medical Examination.
This is for doctors pursuing an MBBS degree from abroad. Only after passing this exam, registration is done with the Indian Medical Council and you get the number. The last FMGE Screening Test took place on October 4, 2020. The admit card was issued to Manohar Singh, whose test center was LON Digital Zone, Mathura Road New Delhi. His exam result was withheld because the photo in the application form did not match the photo taken on the day of the exam.
After investigating the case, it was found that someone else had come to take the exam instead of Manohar Singh. After this, Manohar was called for a face ID verification on 3 February by issuing notice. The accused did not reach there. On 10 March, the accused was verified in NBE. Here the face of the accused could not be found from the one who gave the test. The accused was also not answering questions properly.
The police registered the case and arrested the accused. The accused told during interrogation that he had been trying to pass the FMGE test for the last six years so that he could be registered with the Medical Council of India. When he could not succeed in this, he placed another young man in his place to take the exam.
